We Have A Very Special Announcement to Make……

I am pregnant! Coming April 2020, we will be welcoming a sweet baby to the family. We could not be more excited to FINALLY share this amazing news and blessing with you. To be honest, it is a bit surreal for me to even be writing this post. I don’t think it has fully sunk in that we are expecting but non the less, I am SO overjoyed!

How & When We Found Out

We found out at the beginning of August, right after all of our summer travels. My sister was actually in town the night that we found out which made it even more special. To be honest, I really had no clue that I was pregnant. Around November of last year we decided that we were in a place to maybe start trying. What I like to tell people is that we were “not, not trying”. Basically, we were just not preventing it. After years of being told by doctors that it may be a harder road to get pregnant because of my thyroid issues we wanted it to be as stress free as possible. So we just started praying and letting God do His thing. As someone who has always struggled with anxiety this was not always the easiest thing, but I can say over the past year God has covered me in A LOT of peace. For that I am so grateful.

Gods Timing

Over the past year, we have taken a lot of pregnancy tests. With each negative I would quietly say, ” God you are in control, and I give this to you. Guard my heart, your timing is perfect.” This helped keep the lies and negative/ anxious thoughts away. So the night we found out, I was in complete shock! We had just had dinner with my parents and were back home getting ready to have a movie night with my sister and one of our best friends. I went upstair to get changed and for some reason had a strong feeling I needed to take a pregnancy test. I did not think too much about it as I did not want to get my hopes up but asked Hunter if he would mind running to CVS to pick one up real quick. Not wanting to make a scene or alarm my sister, Hunter said he was going to go pick up some candy for us to have for our movie night. When he came home you would have thought that he had bought the ENTIRE candy isle. Every candy you could possibly think of he bought. I think he may have been a little nervous and went a over board. It was so funny!

Pregnant

I very nonchalantly took the test, left it in the bathroom and went to watch a movie with the girls. After about 20 minutes, I went back in not thinking it would say pregnant but it DID! I was in complete shock. Hunter was right outside the door and I did not even have to say a word we immediately starting hugging and crying. Of course, there was no way I could keep this from my sister and went to tell the exciting news to her as well. It was a night we will remember forever.

How Far Along

I am now a little over 3 months and finally over the the 1st trimester mark. It has been SO hard to keep this secret from you. To be honest, I probably gave it away a few times sharing that I was under the weather and being a little MIA from both TaylerMalott.com and social media. My poker face is not the best but I could not be more thrilled to share this special announcement with you today.

I can’t wait to share this next journey in life with you. Being first time parents we have so much to learn but I can’t wait to see all that God has in store.
