Growing up, summer was always such a relaxing time. A time to get away, take time off of school and just breathe. Oh how I miss those day. As I have grown older, every year I realize more and more that those days are over. With work and the business of all the summer activities, summer is so much fun but can be overwhelming. This year, I have made it a goal of mine to intentionally spend some time relaxing and enjoying these summer days. Through the business this can be so hard to do ( coming from someone who does not like to stop ). I however, have found some ways to help with this. So today, I am sharing the top 10 ways to relax this summer.
Top 10 Ways To Relax This Summer
1. Spend time laying in the sun
This may sounds so simple but a little vitamin D can go a long way. Whether you take some time off to head to the beach or just sit on your front porch in this sun, this is a great way to relax.
2. Read a book
So you may know this about me or you may not, but I am NOT a reader. As I said before, I have a hard time stopping. So taking time to sit and read a book can be difficult, but I have forced myself this summer to sit and read a little each day. For something that I am not a huge fan of, it has actually brought me joy and peace.
3. Go for a walk
A simple walk can go a long way. Take time to walk and enjoy the beauty around you.
4. Journal
I am an avide journaler. The time I take to journal is such a gift. A way to write out feelings, be creative, and relax.
5. Go to a yoga class
This past year I have finally gotten into yoga. It has become such a beautiful way to meditate, pray and sweat a little (or A LOT). I always leave feeling refreshed and relaxed.
6. Go for a picnic
What better way to relax than packing up a picnic, and spending some time outdoors with friends or even by yourself.
7. Light a candle
An easy way to relax is to light a candle and be still. It always surprises me how much candles can change the feeling in a room.
8. Open up a bottle of wine
Need I say more? 😉 Take some me time, open a bottle of wine and just relax.
9. Spend time praying
My favorite way to relax is to sit quietly and pray. Praying about all that is on my mind and just talking to God. It’s such a sweet, rejuvenating time.
10. Breathe
Lastly, spend some time breathing. Be still, take some deep breaths, and allow your mind to rest.
