They say to start each day with a thankful heart. Today I am doing just that.
This time of year, many begin to think of what they are thankful for . I originally planned to share with you about thankfulness the week of Thanksgiving, but in light of recent events in our world I truly felt it was important to share with you now.
We all have so much to be thankful for, even though we may not know it. Thankfulness is not something that we should just have in the good times in life, but something we should remind ourselves to do and feel daily. In this life we are going to have tribulations, trials, hardships, and struggles, but even through those times we still have so much to be thankful for. This can be an extremely difficult idea to grasp. I know for myself it is something that I have struggled with many times. What we do not realize is that we need to be thankful for the simple, yet vital parts of our life. For example, waking up today. That might sound funny, but it is true. Each new day is a gift. Just imagine if we truly viewed life that way? I know I would be much happier, but it is so easy to get caught up in the mundane tasks, and events of everyday life. What we need to remember is that we are to be thankful in all circumstances.
“Give thanks in all circumstance; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” I Thessalonians 5:18
This past week we saw peoples lives crash and crumble all over the world. We saw horrible, senseless, terror and violence that shattered multitudes. Through this many wonder how we can find something to be thankful for when there is so much destruction going on around us. To that I say, even in these times there is still something to be so thankful for, and that is HOPE. Hope found only in Jesus Christ. All is not lost, because of Him. He died for us all so that we may have a life in Him. A life of hope, security, comfort and faith. He never said that this life would be easy, but with Him we have hope for a bright future- an eternity spent with Him. He will make the wrongs right, and turn ashes into beauty
So as we approach the Thanksgiving Holiday I want to encourage you to take time today and everyday to be thankful. No matter what you believe it is so important to do this. Life is fleeting and you never know what can happen. Therefore we must remember to live a life of thankfulness – filled with love, gratitude, and hope.
I am thankful for you all!
YOU ARE SO LOVED!
