Hello Darling!
Last Saturday, Hunter and I headed back to Dallas for a fun weekend celebrating the wedding of some of our sweetest friends. While planning where to stay we decided it would be so much fun to enjoy the holidays and have a romantic getaway at the Adolphus Hotel. I had stayed here at this stunning hotel once before with my sister but it was Hunter’s first time and I could not wait to get to experience it during the Christmas season with him.
A Romantic Holiday Getaway
To The Adolphus Hotel
We arrived early Friday morning to the Adolphus before all the fun wedding activities. Walking into the hotel you are greeted by the most friendly of staff and a stunning lobby filled with beautiful holiday decor. Fun fact: the Adolphus was built in 1912 and is one of the oldest hotels in Dallas. Some of it’s guests even include Queen Elizabeth II herself. As soon as you walk, there is no doubt in your mind that this hotel is truly fit for a queen. You can check out the official portrait she gifted the hotel in the lobby right by the check in counter. This past year the hotel went under a significant renovation to modernize the space. They did an amazing job of keeping the historic beauty while adding the perfect modern touch.
Shopping At Commerce Goods + Supply
As you walk into the hotel you will notice an adorable shop to the left called, Commerce Goods + Supply. This new boutique is filled with artisan goods and essentials that embrace not only the history of the hotel but also Texas. We had a little bit of time to explore that morning and of course this is the first place I stopped. After a long drive there is nothing like a little retail therapy, right? 😉
I loved trying on all the stunning Stetson hats that they had for sale at Commerce. No true Texan boutique is complete without some Stetsons. Hunter also enjoyed shopping around Commerce and even found a pair of jeans that were made in Richmond, TX where he grew up. The little Texas details are what make this spot so unique and special.
Coffee At Otto’s
Directly across the lobby from Commerce is the cutest Viennese-style cafe. I had visited Otto’s before and was so excited to relax and enjoy a light bite and delicious seasonal coffee with Hunter after some retail therapy. This is a spot that you will not only see many hotel guests but Dallas locals working from their computers, or enjoying coffee over a quick meeting.
Lunch At City Hall
After coffee we headed upstairs to our extremely spacious room to rest and change out of our travel clothes. Once we had freshened up a bit we headed back down stairs to City Hall Bistro for lunch. I had enjoyed dinner here this past summer with my sister and friends the weekend of my sisters engagement ( you may remember seeing this from one of my posts on Instagram ) but, it was my first time dining with them for lunch. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. It was just as I had remember it, and we loved every bite. From the yummy cocktails, the incredible crispy halloumi, to the homemade pasta ( I had the pappardelle and Hunter had the ricotta gnocchi ) we definitely left with happy hearts, full bellys, and ready for a nap before getting ready for some fun wedding festivities.
Can we talk about how cute their decor is? Photos don’t even do this hotel justice.
Drinks At City Hall Bar And Lounging In The French Room Salon
After getting ready to head out for the night we made sure to allot a little bit of time to enjoy a glass of champagne for me and an old fashion for Hunter at the City Hall Bar. Right across the bar is their stunning Christmas tree and fireplaces. We wanted to explore a little more so we took our glasses and hopped over to the fireplace than on over to the French Room Salon.
I’m sorry, but how handsome is this hubby of mine?? In love with this photo of him. What a cutie! 😉
The rest of our weekend was filled with wedding fun. However, we did find time to enjoy room service breakfast, a morning at the Spa Adolphus, and their holiday tea Sunday afternoon at the French Room. This weekend was a dream for us and the perfect romantic holiday getaway that we needed. If you are looking to book a romantic getaway to Dallas we can’t recommend this stunning historic hotel more! You will fall in love! We can’t wait to visit again very soon.
YOU ARE SO LOVED!
XOXO,Tay
