Hello Darling!
You may have seen on Instagram that we have been doing some fun updates to our first floor. This is the area we spend the majority of our time and where we welcome all of our guests. Since we moved in a little over 2 years ago, I had a vision for this being a bright and inviting space where all could join and feel at home. We have very slowly finished off this floor and I am so excited to share our updated home decor of this space with you today.
Our Updated Home Decor
First Floor
Our home is full of beautiful windows bringing in lots of natural light, accenting our crisp white walls and furniture. I recently had the urge to add some pops of black to this space to help add some contrast. Our first project was painting our ceiling fan and pendent lights over our kitchen island. We are by no means DIYer’s so we were pleasantly surprised with how well this turned out. ( note- we used the Ann Sloan paint in Athenian Black)
MacKenzie-Childs
Once these projects were done I slowly started adding some fun pieces to bring everything together. In March I had the opportunity to attend a three day virtual event with MacKenzie- Childs and fell in love with the brand. From their sweet team to their beautiful stunning pieces made by talented MacKenzie-Childs artists there is something so special about MC. When looking for pieces to add to the space I knew that MacKenzie-Childs was just what it needed! From our entryway to our kitchen, living room and even our powder bath having these accent pieces was just what the space needed.
I love how these pieces so easily go with everything! I had always been a little scared to mix patterns but MacKenzie-Childs pieces have a magical way of acting as neutrals and accent pieces at the same time. Adding these items to our first floor has truly brought this space to life.
One of my favorite things we did was adding this MacKenzie-Childs wallpaper– all the heart eyes!
Something I struggle with when it comes to home decor and really life in general is over thinking it. With these projects my goal was to not think too much but allow myself to have fun and be creative. So I encourage you have fun with your projects- you will be surprised with how well they will turn out.
Growing up I watched my Nana style MacKenzie-Childs pieces in her home and always dreamt of doing the same one day. It is a dream come true to see these pieces in our home now and I am so proud of the space we have created. I am excited for all the memories we will continue to make here.
YOU ARE SO LOVED
