Hello Darling!
Last Friday Hunter and got away for a one night stay at the Post Oak Hotel here in Uptown Houston. This stunning hotel has been at the top of our list to check out and it was such a treat to be able to enjoy a little staycation away. If you are looking for a luxurious spot to get away in Texas this is the place to stay!
The Post Oak Hotel Houston
The Post Oak Hotel is Texas’ only Double Five-Star rated hotel and spa and Houston’s first and only hotel to ever receive this coveted recognition. Every detail from the time you pull up to the moment you drive away is woven with excellence. We had high expectations coming into this stay and we can happily say we were blown away!
Walking into this stunning hotel located just a hop, skip and jump away from one of Houston busiest areas you feel as if you are transported to somewhere far away and a sense of breath air just drifts over you. You are welcomed by marble staircases and a beautiful hanging chandelier.
Luxury Guest Room
The hotel has over 30 floors of stunning rooms. We stayed in one of their luxury guest rooms. From the marble bathroom and soaking tub to the sitting area with a view of the Houston skyline, this room was truly a dream! To be completely honest we could have stayed in this beautiful room all night and been just as happy!
The Property
After settling in we headed downstairs to explore a little. The property has several restaurant and retail offerings such as Mastro’s Steakhouse, Willie G’s Seafood, Bloom & Bee, Craft F&B, Bouchée Patisserie, H Bar, Post Oak Motor Cars and 29° North boutique. We stopped into Bouchée Patisserie to enjoy a quick treat before heading to the pool for the rest of the afternoon.
The pool is located on the first floor and has such a beautiful atmosphere. Again, we could not believe that this tranquil setting was just steps away from busy 610 highway. We loved it!
Dinner
After a few hours at the pool we got ready and headed to H bar for a quick espresso martini before walking over to Mastro’s Steakhouse for dinner.
Note- If you are an espresso martini lover like myself, add this spot to your list because in my opinion they have one of the best in Houston by far!
Mastro’s was an experience all in itself. One of the most special meals we have had here in Houston. Truly spectacular and only steps away from the hotel.
Note- Grab the butter cake, you will thank me later. 😉
Saturday Morning
After a wonderful nights sleep, we woke up to the beautiful views of Houston. I started the day with a quick workout in the gym located on the 6th floor just above the spa.
Note- The Spa at The Post Oak Hotel is Texas’ only Forbes Five Star rated spa and one of only 31 in the nation to receive this coveted award. We did not get to enjoy the spa this trip but it looked fabulous!
After a quick workout we enjoyed the rest of our morning in the room with some delicious room service before checking out.
The entire trip was truly such a treat and an experience we will never forget. You know it’s a wonderful stay when you are planning your next trip back before you even check out.
If you are looking for the number one hotel in Houston to stay at, look no further! We could not recommend staying at the Post Oak Hotel more!
