Postpartum Prep
Something that I did not plan or prep near as much last time was for postpartum. I think the biggest way you can prep postpartum is mentally and emotionally. Spending time praying over your postpartum time, planning ahead when it comes to nourishing meals, talking with your partner about what you would like your postpartum season to look like etc. A book that I recommend reading is The First Forty Days. We spend so much time prepping for birth and baby when it only makes sense to also plan for the “4th trimester” just the same.
We are excited to also have a postpartum doula this time around who will be helping with healing, meal prep and overall support. Take it from this mama when I say a support team is KEY when it comes to this sweet, transitional season. So round up your team of people who you know will support, care and lift you up during this time.
When it comes to items I have prepped I have a list below:
Postpartum item checklist:
love this kit because it truly comes with all the things you need for healing:
-instant ice maxi pads
-perennial healing foam
-perennial cooling pad liners
-disposable postpartum underwear
I do have to preface that all of these items will also be given to you at the hospital but I personally like the Frida Mom brand better than what is provided at the hospital
Instead of a belly wrap, this time around I have decided to go with a modern bengkung bind. There are so many healing benefits when it comes to belly binding after birth which you can read more about here.
Noelles Naturals is a company I have discovered while pregnant and could not love their all natural products more! I’m excited to use this postpartum gift box filled with some of these items below. USE CODE ‘TAY10’ to receive 10% off
– Restore Postpartum Recovery Elixir
– Heal Postpartum Bottom Spray
Where to put the items?
I recommend grabbing a small basket that you can place in your bathroom filled with all the essentials listed above. That way they are easily accessible and organized.
Something I also recommend prepping ahead of time is your postpartum cart. Something that you can have next to your bed, couch, nursery, etc that is filled with all the essentials you need for you and baby. Items like breast bump, diapers, snacks, water, etc.
Prepping for the hospital and your postpartum season may seem a bit daunting but I hope these checklists help you prep with ease and excitement. Happy nesting mama!
YOU ARE SO LOVED!
XOXO,Tay
