Hello Darling!
My sisters wedding this past weekend was truly a dream! It was more than we ever prayed or hoped for. I had the absolute honor of being her Matron Of Honor and definitely learned a lot. You may remember a few months ago that I share a complete Maid Of Honor checklist. This list included everything from the planning process, bachelorette party, day of and so on. Well, after this past weekend I wanted to add on a few more details when it comes to the wedding day checklist. So I am sharing the ultimate maid of honor checklist for wedding day.
The Ultimate Maid Of Honor Checklist For Wedding Day
Before Ceremony
– Make Yourself aware of timeline and details
It is super important to know exactly where to be, what time to be there, and so on. You are the keeper of time this day so make sure to keep track of everything throughout the day.
-Be The Brides Assistant For The Day
The wedding day is here! As the MOH it is your job to make sure the Bride has everything she needs that day. Help with whatever you can!
-Be In Communication With The Wedding Coordinator and The Mother Of The Bride
These are two people it is so important for you to be in communication with this day. The three of you will be working closely together to make sure everything runs seamlessly for the Bride.
-Create and Bring Emergency Kit
Put together a kit that has everything and more that you may need that day. Think advil, safety pins, needle and thread, tide to go pen, tums, lint roller, etc. Better to be prepared for anything!
– Hang her dress and veil
As soon as you get to the location where you will be getting ready this day, go ahead and hang the brides wedding dress and veil. This was all the wrinkles will be gone by the time the ceremony starts. If is needs a little steaming before she gets dressed make sure to steam it ( with the permission of the bride).
-Make Sure The Bride Is Happy And Fed
It is your job to make sure the Bride has everything she needs this day. That includes food. So pop the bubbly, arrange breakfast to be delivered, and keep an eye on her making sure she eats something every once and while.
-Help Her Get Dressed
Such a special moment! You get to help the Bride get into her dress. ( Why it is important to attend fitting so this part goes smoothly )
-Make Sure Bridesmaids Are All Set
Check in with the Bridesmaid. Make sure they are all set with shoes, jewelry, hair, flowers, etc. Also make sure they know where they are standing in line.
-Deliver Grooms Gift From Bride
Your Bride may have a gift to give her Groom the day of the wedding. Customarily, it is the MOH’s job to make she that gift is delivered to him at the correct time.
-Keep Grooms Ring Safe
This is a very important one! It is your job to keep track of the grooms ring and that it stays safe until it is on his finger.
Ceremony
-Arrange and fix bride’s train upon her arrival to the alter
As soon as her father gives her away and she arrives as the alter, take some time to make sure her veil and train are just as they should be.
– Hold the bride’s bouquet
When you are done fixing her dress take her bouquet and hold it for her as they say their vows. You can give it back to her after the kiss and before they walk back down the aisle as husband and wife.
After Ceremony
– Help adjust and fix her vail during photos
There will be lots of photos taken after the ceremony so if the bride would like you to stick around and help adjust her dress and train definitely do so.
-Bustle Brides Dress
Before the Bride and Groom head into the reception make your way back into the bridal suite, and help bustle the Brides train so that she can dance the night away!
-Make sure the bride eats and drinks
There will be lot’s of guests stopping by to say hello but it is your job to be the referee and let them know that the bride and groom are going to eat and will come say hello later. It’s important to make sure that they both eat and drink!
-Give Your MOH Toast
Along with the Best Man it is your time to shine and give that toast you have been preparing for! Remember this is a moment and speech the Bride and Groom will remember forever!
-Place The Brides Bags In Getaway Car
The wedding coordinator may have this under control however, it’s always good to double check and make sure the Brides bags get into the getaway car. Items to check for: ID, credit card, passport, etc.
-Help Load Wedding Gifts
After the the Bride and Groom have left help the family load up all of the gifts into the correct vehicles. Depending on what the Bride wants you may want to offer to be the one to take all of the gifts until they get back home. A great idea is to grad the newly weds spare key before the wedding so that you can place all of the gifts in their home to open when they get back.
-Clean And Take Care Of Bridal Suite
Lastly, make sure the bridal suite is clean and taken care of. Round up the bridesmaids to make sure they have all of their things, throw away trash, and pack up any forgotten items.
YOU ARE SO LOVED!
XOXO,Tay
