Hello Darling,
It has been awhile. I hope this post finds you well. Finally back from social media break and here to catch you up on life. I am not quite sure where to begin so let’s just dive right on in.
Back From Social Media Break
It has been over 3 months since my last blog post. This break was not quite intentional but much needed. I think that all of us can agree that this past year has been a bit of a strange one. Throw in becoming a new mom for me, and it was definitely a growing experience. I am not going to lie, though it was such a blessing to become a mom I struggled quite a bit. To give you a little bit of a back ground of what’s been going on I thought I would share a little bit of a timeline with you.
Life Update
2 months after having baby girl, I was diagnosed with postpartum depression. This is something that so many of us struggle with but do not talk about nearly enough. After this diagnoses, I continued to press on, tried to resume my every day life, learned how to be the best mom and find my new normal. Then came some health issues for me. If you have followed me for some time, you may have heard me talk about my thyroid disease- Hashimotos. With the stress of having a baby my body was thrown into a full force relapse with this disease. I had no energy, was in full body pain and just felt awful. Both the depression and thyroid disease are two things I have struggled with since I was in high school. So in a sense I felt like I knew how to handle them, but with being a new mom it was A LOT.
The past year I have spent countess hours at drs offices, spending time trying to take care of myself while also trying to the best mom, wife, friend, daughter, sister and business owner. I am sure you can probably see where this is headed. I finally got to the point where I was absolutely burned out! After Christmas we went on our Charleston trip and I realized I needed to take a break. This blog and community is something that I have cherished and loved for 6 years now. It is something I am so proud of. However, in order to take care of myself and those that I hold most dear I needed to pull back. This honestly happened very organically and naturally. I have tried my best to keep updates coming on social while still keep a healthy break. Social breaks are not easy, especially when you have the sweetest community built around it but they are SO good for the soul.
Where I Am At Now
So that leads us to where I am now. I can say I am feeling much better than I was a few months ago. I prayed for clarity on when and how I should come back, what that would look like and much more. For months I felt like I had no creative energy left. Over the past few weeks though, that creative itch finally came back and I knew it was time to start getting the ball rolling.
I am definitely still struggling health wise but we are currently working on some things to help me feel better and I am very hopeful.
