Hello Darling!
I hope you had a fabulous weekend and are having a wonderful week so far. As you may have noticed, I took some much needed time off of social media the past few days. This was done intentionally because to be honest, I needed to reevaluate my priorities, time management, and most of all my everyday schedule. Owning my own business and working from home has been one of the biggest blessings. However, I have found myself these past few months living a lifestyle that was not only unhealthy for my own well being but the well being of this incredible business and most importantly my family. The everyday grind I have found myself in has not only been unhealthy, but it has been non-productive and unefficient. So today, I thought I would share little about what I have been learning and ways to create a healthy everyday schedule.
What Prompted This Schedule Change
This past Saturday, I was listening to a podcast by Julie Solomon and had a complete epiphany. I was laying by the pool with Hunter after having an anxious meltdown. I was tired and emotional but had no idea why. As I laid by the pool I turned on the podcast and began to listen to Influencer Insights 010 . I listened to Julie as she explained how she had been struggling the year before with her an unhealthy schedule and what she did to change that. It occurred to me that I was living the same way and there needed to be a change. For instance, feeling as if I needed to be on my phone from sundown to sunset, prioritizing my business over family time, and the list goes on. After listening I looked at Hunter and began to apologize to him. We then discussed our biggest takeaways and plan of action to turn my everyday schedule into a healthy one.
Ways To Create A Healthy Everyday Schedule
- #1- Keep your phone in another room
Oh boy! This is the biggest issue I have been struggling with. Living in this day and age our phones are a huge part of everything that we do. It is wonderful that we can have a device where we can text, work, access all forms of social media, etc. Having it next to you 24/7 can be dangerous though. It is so easy to get caught in the rabbit whole of constant scrolling on Instagram, reading emails, checking in on facebook, and so on. It takes away time from work, family, and your rest. As an influencer, my phone is a tool that I constantly use for work. However, I have realized that putting my phone in another room while I am creating, when Hunter gets home, and when I go to sleep allows me to create a healthy life and more efficient work schedule.
- #2- Start your day and end your day with quiet time
It is so easy to start your day and end your day with the mind and grind. However, it is important to spend some time meditating, praying, journalling or reading your Bible. A practice that will fill your soul and mind. Doing this in the morning and at night allows you to end your day the same way you began it. Creating a healthy schedule that will fill every area of your life.
- #3- Create before Consuming
This is one of my favorite take aways from Julie’s podcast. Being in a line of work that requires a lot of creativity it is important to start your day with creating. If you start your day on Instagram, others blogs, or even your email you are spending the valuable time consuming rather than creating. By starting your day consuming it takes away your own creative ideas, and can slow down your creative process. Consuming is not a bad thing but it is so important to learn to create before you consume.
Putting This Into Action
I hope this encourages you as much as it has encouraged me. This is a lesson I am continuing to learn and know I will be working on putting into action everyday. It’s important to find a schedule that works best for you, your family, and your work. Whatever that may look like, and whatever steps you need to take to get there – DO IT. We want to live the most beautiful, healthy life that we can and creating a healthy schedule is a key step in achieving that.
I would love to hear some tips or lifestyle changes that you have made to achieve that healthy everyday schedule. Also, if you have not checked out Julie Solomons Influencer Podcast I could not recommend it more. Being a New York Times best-selling publicist and marking/ branding strategist, she is a wealth of knowledge and so encouraging!
YOU ARE SO LOVED!
