Hello Darling!
When it comes to date night, Hunter and I try to schedule at least one or two a month. With busy work schedules it’s hard some times to have that important quality time together. So, we have found that scheduling in date nights makes it so much easier. Now I can’t lie, our go to date night is definitely camping out on the couch with a bottle of wine, cheese board, and binge watching a Netflix show ( we currently can’t stop watching Mad Men ), but with living in an incredible foodie-city like Houston there is no shortage of great date night restaurants. We have lived in Houston for almost two years now and we have an ongoing list of our favorite places to go. Today, we thought it would be fun to share that list with you of our top 10 favorite date night restaurants in Houston.
Top 10 Date Night Restaurants In Houston
From the best fajita spot, soup dumplings, strongest margs, to the best home made pasta this list of restaurants has it all!
10. Vine Wine Room–
Just down the street from where we live this is such a fun casual date night spot. We will bike ride over, order a glass of wine and a cheese board to snack on. We love to go on Saturdays for their special wine tastings.
9.Studio Movie Grill–
When we are in the mood for a movie night but are needing to get out of the house this is our spot to go to. With good food, and service this place is amazing to have dinner and watch that new movie you have been wanting to see. Our favorite day to go is on $5 ticket Tuesdays. We order the 2 for $28 sharing menu- share one starter and picking two entrees. The best way to go!
8.El Tiempo –
Oh El Tiempo, how we love you! This is our go to spot for last minute date nights. One of the busiest spots in Houston our favorite location is off of Washington. From the strong margaritas to the flamming fajitas ( pro tip: always add the berry topping, trust me!) this place never disappoints.
7.Backstreet Cafe–
The most charming cafe. This is one or our regular brunch spots but it also has a wonderful dinner menu as well. From fresh salads to their amazing braised short rib this is a great spot to try!
6.North–
The BEST homemade pasta. Need I say more? This Italian restaurant cooks up the most delicious homemade, from scratch dishes. Our favorite by far is the bolognese. This is such a fun date night spot. From friendly staff and the amazing food you can always count on leaving happy and full. They also have an incredible happy hour Sunday- Friday from 3pm-6pm. You can’t beat $16 bottles of wine and $8 pizzas!
5.Tiny Boxwoods–
This is a stunning gem. As you walk into this River Oaks restaurant you feel as if you have been transported to a secret garden. Walking through vine covered walls and beautiful flowers you are greeted by the friendliest of staff. The food is always fresh and absolutely delicious. We tend to eat here more often for brunch but they do have a fabulous dinner. In our opinion, it is truly the most romantic spot in Houston.
4.Coltivare–
Located in the Heights, serving the best rustic Italian food the entire menu is dictated on Houston’s growing season as everything they make is fresh from their backyard garden. Hunter recommends any of the pizzas here. You won’t regret it!
3.Steak 48–
This is our special occasion date night. This upscale steakhouse serves the finest of steaks and high-quality seafood. Hunter and recommend coming with an empty stomach because you will want to try everything. From the food, service and their secret off the menu bidngets this place is outstanding!
2. Armandos–
Located in the River Oaks area, this upscale Mexico City styled restaurant is amazing. From their yummy lime juice margaritas, to their fresh Mexican food plates this place is great! Also, Thursdays is ladies night filled with salsa dancing, and a whole lot of fun!
1.Ginger and Fork–
This is our ultimate date night spot. We have quickly become regulars and have not only fallen in love with the entire menu but also the sweet staff and management. From incredible soup dumplings to the best craft cocktails this place is the absolute best and our number one favorite! ( If you are looking for the best/ prettiest cocktail ever ask for the Dragon Fire. It’s off the menu and you will thank me me later. 😉 )
Date Night Dresses
For date night on the town I love to doll myself up a bit, and throw on a pretty dress. I recently picked up this stunning Gal Meets Glam pink dress from Nordstrom and knew it would be the perfect dress to wear for a date night. In fact, the day after I bought it we headed to North for cocktails and Italian food. It is so fun to have an excuse to dress up and feel pretty.
Hunter and I hope you enjoy this list. If you live in the Houston area or just visiting we could not recommend these tried and true date night favorites more. Also, feel free to leave a comment or DM me on Instagram to let me know of any new date night spots to try. We are always adding to the list. 🙂
YOU ARE SO LOVED!
