Hello Darling!
Holiday home decor is always so much fun! As a little girl I would watch my mom decorate the house and dream of the day I would have my own home to decorate. Now though we are currently still in our apartment, we have found ways to decorate our small space we call home. So today, I am sharing our holiday home decor + tips for decorating a small space.
Holiday Home Decor + Tips For Decorating A Small Space
When it comes to holiday decor you want to always have a plan. First deciding a color palette. What colors you would like to decorate your house with. You want to make sure these colors go with the decor you already have in your home. From there you can begin to plan the rest of you decorations with these tips below.
Tip #1 Decide What Decor Pieces Are Most Important
When living in a small space, you have a limited area to decorate. Because of this, you have to decide what pieces are most important to you. For Hunter are I, we of course decided on a Christmas tree and than picked smaller pieces from there. ( IE: Garland, lights, wreath, etc. )
Tip #2 Pick A Christmas Tree Size That Will Not Overrun Your Small Space
When picking a Christmas tree, it is important to pick a tree that will not overrun your small space. So before going out to buy a tree measure the area you would like to place it. Then, bring that same measuring tape with you when buying the tree to make sure it is the perfect size. No one wants to come home with their gorgeous tree only to find out it does not fit.
Tip #3 Decorate Pieces That Are Already In Your Home
This tip will help you tremendously. Utilize the decor and furniture pieces you already have. This will not only save space, but also money. Because we do not have a fire place or mantel we utilized our entertainment center and decorated it with garland and hung our stockings.
Tip #4 Get Creative!
This goes with any kind of decorating but especially when decorating small spaces. Have fun with your little home. Add wreaths to mirrors, decorate your bar cart, add Christmas candles to your coffee table and so on. It’s all about adding that perfect touch of Christmas to your small space.
I hope this inspires you this season! What a gift it is to have roof over our heads no matter the size of the home. Be thankful for your small space and embrace the holiday season!
YOU ARE SO LOVED!
XOXO,Tay
