The Best Homemade Spiked Hot Chocolate Recipe

And happy National Hot Chocolate day! Did you know that December 13th was National Hot Chocolate Day? As soon as I found out I knew that I had to share my homemade spiked hot chocolate recipe. You may remember last year, I shared my homemade hot chocolate recipe with you. Well this recipe is very similar only with a little kick of my favorite cream liqueur, Ricura. I promise this is a must try recipe this season!

Homemade Spiked Hot Chocolate Recipe

*serving size: 2

Ingredients:

2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
2-3 tbsp sugar
A pinch of salt
2 cups of milk ( Any type of milk or water will do)
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup of Ricura Horchata Cream Liqueur

Directions:

Whisk together cocoa, sugar, salt,4 tbsp of milk in a sauce pan over medium-low heat until
Whisk until cocoa and sugar and completely dissolved
Pour in the rest of the milk and whisk over medium heat
Whisk until desired heat
Stir in vanilla
Take off of heat and a 1/2 cup of Ricura ( if some want more Ricura you can always add more to their cup )
Pour into two mugs
Add your favorite toppings ( marshmallosw, peppermint, whip cream, etc.)
